Cowboy Safari is a thrilling lasso adventure where you ride wild beasts, dodge danger, and build a sky zoo. Rule the frontier and tame legends.
How to Play Cowboy Safari?
Catching and Taming Animals
- Timing your lasso throw: When you spot an animal ahead, stay calm and wait until you're close enough. Don't throw the lasso too early as it will miss its target. The ideal time is when the animal is right in front of you and running steadily.
- Safety sign to jump onto an animal's back: After hitting the lasso, the animal's color will turn yellow. This signals that you can safely jump onto its back. If you jump before the color changes, you're likely to fall and end your turn.
- Taming time required: Each animal has a different taming time. You need to ride long enough until the progress bar is complete. Once successfully tamed, the animal will become friendly and be returned to Sky Zoo after the turn ends.
Riding and Switching Between Animals
- Anger Meter: Each animal has an anger meter. If you ride for too long, this bar will fill up and the animal will throw you off.
- When to jump to another animal: When you see the rage bar is almost full, prepare to jump to another animal running nearby. Switching at the right time helps you maintain a continuous riding streak and increases your chances of encountering rare animals.
- Avoid obstacles: While riding, you need to observe ahead to avoid trees, rocks, pits, or large animals. Jumping a little earlier is safer than waiting until the last second.
In-game controls
- Jump/Lasso throw: Press Space or left mouse button to jump, throw the lasso, and land on the animal's back.
- Navigation keys while riding: Use the arrow keys to adjust the animal's direction of movement while riding.
Common Player Mistakes
Lasso Miss (Missing the Target with the Lasso)
This is the most common mistake that prevents you from catching the animal and losing the chance to continue your run.
Common Causes:
- Throwing the lasso too early when it's still far away
- Throwing too late when the animal has passed
- Not aligning correctly with the direction of movement
Solution:
- Wait until the animal is within close range
- Observe the yellow signal before jumping
- Maintain a steady pace, don't rush the action
Thrown Off by Angry Beast
Each beast has an anger meter. When this meter is full, the beast will throw you off immediately.
Common Causes:
- Riding one beast for too long
- Not paying attention to the anger meter
- Switching beasts too slowly
Solutions:
- Always observe the anger meter while riding
- Prepare to jump to another beast before the meter is full
- Prioritize jumping when the anger meter is at about 70–80%
